We’re on the right track

…at least, according to A.I. 

This past month, long after the 2026 nomination and election cycles were completed, I wanted some validation, some level of proof, that we were achieving what we set out to over two years ago.

We know we’ve got the percentages on our side by having over forty craft beer industry people –our Advisory Board—from whom we solicit nominations, as well as over 100 Electors who do the actual voting.  But I still wanted confirmation that we weren’t missing something else or someone else, beyond the methodology and parameters we have in place.

So, I turned to Artificial Intelligence –ChatGPT, to be more specific.  I asked Chat to name the “fifty most important, prominent, and influential people in the American craft beer industry since its inception.” 

The list of names that came back was jolting in its familiarity.  All of the first seven people on the list are already in The Hall, and a total of fourteen of the first thirty.  Mind you- there are only twenty Inductees TOTAL in The Hall after two years of Inductions.

When I asked Chat to name the top-twenty Innovators in the industry, the first nine people are already in The Hall, and a total of twelve of the twenty are in.

When I asked Chat to come up with the top-fifteen Foundational Figures in the industry, the first eight people are already enshrined, and ten of those fifteen are. 

We know not everyone who is following what we do here at the ACBHOF is completely pleased with the results of the nominations and elections that take place each year, but I’m feeling a fair bit more confident about the systems we have in place.  All things considered, it looks like we’re getting it right.
